Apple guideline 3.2.2

Apple App Review guideline 3.2.2 governs incentivized behavior. For referrals it means a reward may attach to a post-install action such as subscribing, but never to the install itself.

Rewarding a user simply for installing an app runs afoul of Apple's rules. A referral reward has to attach to a genuine action after install, such as starting a paid subscription.

Attribloom keeps referral rewards on the right side of this line by delivering the redeemer reward as a subscription offer, which only applies when the user subscribes.

Frequently asked

Can I reward the sharer for an install?

Rewarding the sharer for driving installs is generally acceptable. What guideline 3.2.2 restricts is rewarding the recipient for the install itself, so the recipient's reward must require an in-app action like subscribing.
