Commissions & payouts
How commission is calculated
Commission equals the campaign's percentage rate applied to the surface's eligible conversion value. Shopify uses the post-discount merchandise subtotal and excludes tax and shipping. App Store purchases use developer proceeds after Apple's commission. Calculations use integer minor units rather than floating point.
You set that percentage when you create a campaign. AI affiliates earn the same campaign rate as any other affiliate, and their commission is what Attribloom keeps. Human affiliates keep everything they earn, and Attribloom takes nothing from their commissions.
Eligible attributed iOS subscription renewals earn commission within the three-month renewal window measured from the original purchase. A resubscribe is treated as a renewal, not a new initial purchase. Trials and refunds do not earn commission:
- Free trial conversions do not trigger a commission until a paid period completes.
- If a purchase is refunded or revoked, the previously credited commission is clawed back.
Maturation hold
After a sale is attributed, the commission matures for 30 days to account for refunds and revocations. It becomes payable only once that window clears and no reversal has arrived.
How commissions are tracked
Accrued commission is held per affiliate, per currency. Each affiliate's balance reflects only cleared, payable amounts. Commission still in the hold period is shown separately as pending.
Payouts
Tremendous is the provider configured for activated payout policies, using the campaign's payout currency. The policy configures payout delivery to the affiliate's email, with redemption options that vary by country. This is why choosing the right payout currency at campaign creation matters: if your sales settle in USD but the campaign is set to GBP, balances and payouts will not align.
Every program has a payout policy that sets its threshold and whether payouts are automatic or reviewed. While that policy is being set up, matured balances stay safe and visible in the ledger. Nothing is lost or forfeited.
Once your program's payout policy is activated, matured commission above the threshold is queued for payout through Tremendous on the policy's schedule. The first payout to each affiliate is review-held. Payout policies are activated with the Attribloom team as part of program setup. The affiliate portal shows whether the policy is active, the threshold when there is one, and the first-payout review.
The hold window leaves time for refunds and reversals before money moves. The payout mechanism also checks that the books balance before processing a queued payout. If that self-check fails, payout processing stops until the records are safe again.
For agencies, each client runs as its own Attribloom program and account today. There is no cross-client switcher yet, so keep each client's conversions, payouts, and exports in that client's account.
